how I approach depression therapy

This work is gentle and honest. We look at what still reinforces your negative beliefs and what keeps you stuck.

Once you say the thing out loud, it loses power. We build clarity, momentum, and the ability to be with yourself without fear.

  • Psychoanalytic Therapy
Helps uncover where your depression originated to reduce self blame, hopelessness, and the belief that nothing can change.

    Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Clarifies the parts of you that criticize, compare, or shut down increasing internal harmony and steadiness.

    Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Helps you access and express emotions safely to ease the feeling of being overwhelmed by what you feel.

    Relational Therapy
Uses our connection to model healthier relationship patterns: strengthens trust, honesty, and emotional safety.

    Trauma Informed Approach
Supports nervous system regulation, lowering emotional reactivity and the sense of being at war with yourself.

You can’t change tomorrow without understanding today.

there’s a light at the end of the tunnel

you won’t feel depressed forever.

When you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time, it can start to feel like this is just how life is. Therapy creates space to slow things down, quiet the noise, and reconnect with yourself — so you can move forward with more clarity and steadiness instead of just getting through the day.

After working together, you may experience:

  • a quieter, less critical inner voice

  • renewed motivation and energy

  • a clearer sense of who you are

  • confidence to make changes, including changing jobs

  • the ability to step away from draining relationships

  • more ease being alone without feeling lonely

  • fewer negative spirals — and the ability to break out of them when they happen

If you’ve been surviving for a long time, this work helps you begin living with more intention, choice, and self-trust.

hi, I'm dr. Ann Krajewski, psd

My therapy goes deeper than symptom management. I pay attention to your patterns, your history, and the parts of you that learned to cope alone. I bring warmth, curiosity, and humor into the rom, and ask questions that help you understand why you feel the way you do.

In our sessions, we’ll move carefully but honestly. We’ll work at a pace that feels supportive but meaningful. I also believe deeply in doing my own inner work, because I can’t guide you anywhere I’m unwilling to go myself.

Availability: I work with patients online in Washington DC, & Virginia.
