Is anxiety taking over your life?

You have tried all the tips and tricks but nothing seems to help when your anxiety is at its loudest.

Maybe you are often worried something bad is going to happen, or maybe you are feeling out of control but can’t seem to feel in control despite all your efforts.

Perhaps, you are feeling exhausted because your anxious thoughts don’t stop even when you are trying to relax and do something fun.

Your anxiety rarely leaves you alone and often convinces you of the worst possible outcome.

Or simply, your anxiety paralyzes you and you struggle to get out of bed.

You maybe first noticed the physical anxiety symptoms but are now seeing the larger impact it has in your life.

Anxiety is making you second guess everything you do. You lack confidence and don’t trust yourself or others.

You struggle to feel confident and excel at your job because of your anxiety. You can’t take risks or ask for that promotion.

You feel stuck in life because you think about your goals all the time but your anxiety and worry causes you to avoid working towards them. Maybe you want to travel outside that country or start a new hobby but your anxiety convinces you it isn’t worth the risk.

You are realizing your anxiety is starting to hurt your relationships. You struggle to reach out to friends, as well as feel too nervous to make new friends or go out on that date.

Ultimately, you realize that anxiety is keeping you from enjoying your life and you are ready to get unstuck.

In-Depth Anxiety Therapy can help.

You can feel safe to explore and enjoy life rather than constantly have to be protecting yourself from the danger your anxiety convinces you is around the corner. Life can be about moving towards what you want and love, rather than merely about avoiding scary possibilities

Experiencing anxiety doesn't have to take up your whole life.

Meet Dr. Ann Krajewski, Seattle anxiety therapist

I understand firsthand how exhausting and overwhelming it can be to live in a constant state of anxiety. You might feel consumed by your worries and notice how anxiety touches every part of your life: your mental health, physical health, relationships, and more.

The good news is that it doesn't have to stay this way for you—and you don't have to go through this alone.

Through both my personal experience and my clinical expertise, I've seen the transformative power of talk therapy. By getting to the underlying root of anxiety, we can create lasting change and help you feel more fulfilled in your daily life.

This journey is difficult, messy, and painful, but finally having the emotional freedom you've been seeking is well worth the process. Plus, we're in this together.

I've always been curious about people, which is why I specialize in in-depth anxiety therapy in Seattle. I want to deeply understand your past experiences, your thoughts and emotions, and how you view the world.

Those of us who struggle with anxiety often have an especially hard time letting our authentic selves be seen, but I want to make your inner voice a priority in our sessions together.

Because I ask my clients to go deep with me, I do the same. I'm committed to doing my own growth and reflection in my personal therapy sessions, and I also seek continuing education, training, and supervision to make sure I'm showing up for you as effectively as possible.

My approach to anxiety treatment in Seattle

As a psychoanalytic-oriented therapist, I take an in-depth approach to anxiety counseling. This means that we'll take a deep dive into the dynamics and patterns that keep you stuck in a state of worry and tension.

We go beyond just treating anxiety symptoms. We will get to the root problems that feed your anxiety.

If you're looking for a quick fix or basic coping tools, I'm not the right therapist for you.

Most of my patients come to me because they have tried self-help or more skills based anxiety treatment. They realize they are wanting deeper more lasting change. They feel like they have self-awareness and understand where their anxiety comes from but for some reason that doesn't help. This is often because there are deeper unconscious reasons that can be hard to alone and require help to uncover.

If you are ready for this deeper self-discovery and are tired of just being told to do deep breathing or to have a different thought, then we would be a good fit.

Together, we'll get to the heart of your challenges so we can make meaningful changes that actually last.

Emotional healing takes time, so it's important to be patient on this journey. Remember, you're not a problem that needs to be solved, and there's no deadline for healing.

Getting in touch with the hidden parts of yourself can be difficult, especially when our anxiety goes to so much effort to keep those parts quiet. Shedding light on painful life events or past trauma is often painful at first, but the healing that comes from doing this in-depth work is life-changing.

In order to facilitate this growth, I focus on building strong, trusting relationships with each person I work with. Connection is one of the main values that drive my practice, and I often see chronic anxiety as stemming from early relationship wounds.

By fostering a genuine therapist-client bond, we create the opportunity for deep healing in this area. My goal is to make you feel seen, heard, and supported during our therapy sessions.

This can feel vulnerable and even intimidating if you're used to shielding your genuine thoughts, feelings, needs, and desires. However, I want to show you that it's safe to be yourself and show you the joy and freedom that can come with embracing who you are.

Benefits of anxiety counseling

Each person has a different experience with individual counseling. Because of this, it's difficult to say exactly what the outcome of your time in therapy will be. At the same time, if you're willing to dive deep and stay committed to the process, you can expect to see incredible personal growth.

Here are a few common benefits of working with an anxiety therapist.

FAQs about working with an anxiety therapist in Seattle

Whether you're starting therapy for the first time or continuing on your healing journey, it's normal to have questions. Here are answers to some common questions that people have about anxiety treatment in Seattle. If you have more questions, you can check out my FAQ page or get in touch with me directly to discuss your unique circumstances.

  • While it's normal to feel worried or stressed from time to time, anxiety disorders run much deeper than that. People with anxiety often feel like it's taken over their life, or that it's so deeply ingrained into who they are that it's impossible to break free from. Know that these feelings are valid, even though it's entirely possible to treat anxiety like we've discussed above.

There are many different types of anxiety disorders, including:

Generalized anxiety disorder. Symptoms include chronic worry, feeling restless or on edge, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, irritability, and physical symptoms like muscle tension and headaches.

Social anxiety disorder. People with social anxiety have an intense fear of being judged by others and may avoid certain social situations altogether.

Panic disorder. People with panic disorder experience panic attacks, which are episodes of intense fear, and have physical symptoms like sweating, trembling, racing heart, and lightheadedness.

Some mental health issues, like obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or trauma-related disorders like PTSD, also come along with anxiety symptoms.

It's important to know that you don't necessarily have to have a formal anxiety disorder to benefit from anxiety therapy. If you're interested in counseling but aren't sure whether you have any of the anxiety disorders listed above, I encourage you to schedule a consultation anyway.

  • There are many different therapeutic methods used in treating anxiety. When searching for an anxiety therapist in Seattle, take note of which approaches they use. Finding a therapist whose methods resonate with your values and needs is important.

I use an in-depth, psychoanalytic-oriented approach to anxiety treatment. If you wInt to heal and manage anxiety, getting to the underlying cause of your anxiety symptoms is the most effective way to create true, meaningful change and give you emotional freedom. I've witnessed this firsthand in my own personal work, as well as with the clients I've supported in my practice.

However, many therapists use different methods. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and internal family systems therapy (IFS) are some other approaches you might see when researching mental health providers. Doing a little research into each of these methods can help you get a better sense of which one might be best for you.

  • There is no set number of sessions required for treating anxiety. Some people notice improvement from short-term therapy after just a few sessions. Others engage in therapy for months or years. As a depth therapist, I find that my clients get the most out of our sessions when we can work together for over a year.

Keep in mind that mental health counseling won't eradicate your anxiety. No matter how long you're in therapy, you'll still have to cope with difficult feelings and stressful life events. However, the longer you're committed to your personal growth, the more insight and awareness you'll gain over your patterns.

Therapy is also a highly personalized experience. Remember, there's no set time for healing, and you're a person—not a robot or machine. It's important to be patient with yourself during this journey and stay open to whatever the healing process has in store for you.
